ABOUT TONE is a powder compact designed for BBIA Cosmetics, launched for the Japan market. We wanted the product to feel more like a fashion accessory for young consumers rather than just a cosmetic product by designing it into an object that people would enjoy carrying around.

The leather finger strap is both the product’s unique identity and a key feature. When opened, it naturally creates an opening for a secure and comfortable finger grip. When closed, the strap sits flush with the product and maintains a clean look. Inspired by observations of how people apply makeup while handling multiple other items, the strap enables intuitive one-handed use. The material mix of a transparent outer case, metal inner case, and leather strap creates a sense of depth. The engraved logo detail on the leather strap further adds its unique layered character.
